When is a brand collab more than a brand collab?
We teamed up with the incredible Katie Uyeda and her blog A Space to Sow to create something really special.
One of the best parts of building a brand is doing it with people you love. To celebrate our friendship and the release of Katie's new poetry book Letters From the Shore, we brought our brands and creativity together to make something truly special.
We started this little brand Ritual Organics from the North Shore of Oahu, and serendipitously, much of Katie’s inspiration for the poems in her new book were birthed in the midst of the North Shore’s outrageous beauty.
We want our brand to represent more than just the products we share with people. We want it to reflect our love for people and our friends. This shirt and its design (mostly Katie’s genius) is a poignant example of that.
It’s printed on organic cotton shirts (obviously) with a delightfully boxy/ modern streetwear fit.
The poem on the back says “day after day, the faithful seeds sown”
in the hope-soiled ground of what could be”
To me (Jon), it evokes the slow, un-flashy journey (ritual) of investing in the things that last. Family, great friendships, our work as creatives, and business.
We’re splitting the profit evenly between brands (Ritual Organics and A Space to Sow), so every order funds Jon, Gabs, Jake and Katie’s life, adventures, and time with friends.

Here's what you're getting from each of our ingredients:
100% U.S. Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Whipped Suet Tallow
Sun Tallow is made with the highest quality tallow from grass-fed, grass-finished U.S. cattle. Tallow has been a traditional skincare ingredient for centuries. It closely mirrors human sebum, so your skin recognizes it and absorbs its nutrients easily. It’s rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K and essential fatty acids that support healthy, resilient-feeling skin.
Organic Jojoba Oil
Don’t even get us started on jojoba oil. This powerhouse skincare oil is deeply hydrating yet non‑comedogenic — moisturizing without clogging pores. It’s also rich in antioxidants and has skin‑soothing qualities that calm tight, dry, or irritated skin.
Non-Nano Zinc Oxide
Non‑nano zinc oxide is a gentle mineral that sits on the surface of your skin without absorbing into your bloodstream. It’s the ingredient that’s been used in diaper cream, lifeguard lip protection, and traditional mineral skincare for decades — and it’s what gives our balm its substantive feel on the skin. Reef‑safe.
Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E is a traditional skincare antioxidant. Paired with tallow, it also acts as a natural stabilizer that keeps the balm fresh without synthetic preservatives.
Organic Rosehip Oil
Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A and C. It’s a traditional botanical for supporting a bright, even-looking complexion.
Organic Lavender Oil
Lavender essential oil is gentle and naturally aromatic — the only source of scent in our balm. It adds a soft, calming fragrance without synthetic perfume.
